This in-person class will equip you with the knowledge and skills necessary to apply for (or renew) your Minnesota Concealed Carry Class.
The Minnesota Defense Education Minnesota Permit to Carry Course has been reviewed and approved by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension to meet or exceed the requirements of Minnesota State Statute 624.714.
The fee for the class is $99, which includes all range fees, safety gear, and the use of a firearm and ammunition. Payment can be made in cash or by card. Payment collected in person on the day of class.

Minnesota Defense Education now offers an online Mn Permit to Carry Class for those who prefer to take the class online. Moreover, the Minnesota Defense Education Online MN Permit to Carry Class has been approved by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. This approval is for individuals seeking to obtain a new carry permit or renew an existing one.
After completing the online class and the range activity, you will receive a certificate. This certificate allows you to apply for your MN Permit to Carry, which is valid in a variety of states.

The Minnesota Permit to Carry class is available in person once a month, or online at any time. You can choose the option that is right for you. Both classes are approved by the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and meet the requirements for either a new permit, or to renew an existing permit.

No, there is no written test. Instead, there is a shooting qualification to demonstrate consistent and accurate shooting at self-defense distances.
Can I apply for a concealed carry permit immediately after completing the Minnesota Concealed Carry Class?
Yes, upon completing the class and passing the shooting qualification, you will receive a certificate to present to your local Sheriff’s office for immediate permit application.
How often do I need to renew my concealed carry permit in Minnesota?
Your permit will have an expiration date. Renewal requires taking another class and submitting renewal paperwork before that date.
